Thank you for visiting our site! My name is Amy Hanson, Chair of the
Brooklyn Park Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Steering Committee. I wanted
Brooklyn Park to become a Yellow Ribbon City because I believe in
supporting service members and their families as I am one of them. The
family up above is mine as we waited for my husband to get home from
his deployment to Afghanistan. Those in the shadows represent the
greater community, standing there along side us. There is no way the girls
and I could have made it without the support of this BTYR Network. It was
the little things, from helping shuttle our girls to activities to handyman help
to meals with friendly faces, we just couldn't’t have done it alone. I hope
you will find the support you need from us! Please do not hesitate to reach
out for help, us military families can be a proud bunch and in the words of
our Commander in Chief, “Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a
sign of strength because it shows you have the courage to admit when
you don't know something, and that then allows you to learn something
new.”
